Brunch Casual

Happy Saturday! I wore this to have brunch with friends earlier today. It took no effort to throw together and the skirt allowed for eating room. The pops of colour made me feel cheery even though the weather today is totally blah.

We also did a quick thrifting trip to St. Vincent where I found a grey velvet dress, navy blazer, and lime green planter. I've been slowly picking up things to get my plants in order for Spring. So far I have two daisy plants and two pots. I'm on the lookout for a mint plant, a new basil plant (mine has died over winter), and possibly a big palm. I'm so excited! I'm just waiting for the sun to get a little stronger and for more stores to begin carrying plants again.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

Moonroom Delights

I wore this for a much needed ladies night. We went out to the Moonroom in Little Italy, a place that has been on my "to go" list for a while now. We had drinks and tapas. They have a delectable array of cheeses and we also tried the bacon wrapped olives. I wore this sporty/minimalist outfit. It brings out a side of me that I've been trying to embrace more lately. While I love crazy prints, patterns, and textures, sometimes I take a break and dress simple. I've been wearing this furry pink scrunchy for weeks now. I love it.

Top: H&M, $15. Jeans: Forever 21+, $18. Sandals: H&M, 12 pounds. Scrunchy: Ardene, $2. Purse: Value Village, $4.

England - Part 5: An Outfit Post

While in England, I tried to dress up as much as possible while still being comfortable enough to walk the hills and cobblestone streets which I'm soooo not used to. At first I thought, I could NEVER wear heels in this city, I'd fall! I had to try it though (not the falling part). I did pretty good! I wore this to run a few errands and do a bit of shopping. Everything I'm wearing I bought in England because I realized when I got there that I didn't really bring much to wear. This was probably a good thing since fitting everything in my suitcase in the end was a puzzle. I think I have one more post on England to wrap up my trip and then I'll do a video to show you everything I bought!

How's your September so far? It's toats my fave month ever.

I faintly remember how much everything was but it was also in pounds so I'm going to save myself the headache and leave the prices out. Plz forgive me! Shirt and Shoes: New Look. Jeggings and Necklace: H&M. Rings: Camden Market.

Somebody Told Me

I wore this for a day of shopping and to see Stars and The Killers concert in Montreal with Lisa and Rosie. I had so much fun! I hadn't been to Montreal in a few months so it's always nice to go back. We arrived hours before the concert so we could fit in a decent amount of shopping as well as dinner. I knew the shopping portion of the day would require a lot of walking, waiting in lines, and sometimes running to snatch my size so I swapped the sequin top for a tank top and the flatforms for Nikes and changed before heading to the concert. I do this quite often when I have to get down to business during the day yet want to dress up a little more for the night. I'll often bring a pair of heels or flatforms in the car so I can quickly swap.

I was really looking forward to shopping the Zara there since it's huge, carries XL, and always has sales. I found a couple of nice things but nothing I was in love with. I left empty-handed but we also went to H&M where I found a really cool white mesh t-shirt and some tropical print shorts - both on sale!

The concert was pretty awesome. I've never considered myself a huge fan of The Killers but I grew up listening to their songs and I knew they'd be great live. Stars was the opening band which was absolutely perfect. Brandon Flowers, the lead singer of The Killers, sounded amaaaaazing live. He truly has a unique and talented voice.

Seen any good concerts lately?

Keeping things groovy.

While it's horribly cold and goopy outside, I like to keep things groovy on the inside. This is one of my favourite and most frequented blazers that I wear to work. My t-shirt you may recognize from my latest thrift haul video; It's such a fun print but if you stare at it too long you may start to see stars! The purse was a score from H&M and I predict it to be a summer favourite. I paired it with classic black skinny jeans and my gold sequinned oxfords. This is the time of year for indulgence, relaxation, and keeping things groovy until the storm passes. And by storm, I mean six months of winter.

Pumpkin this, pumpkin that

My halloween night consisted of many a pumpkin. My sister Lisa showed me a recipe from her favourite food blogger, Bon Appetempt, and we were instantly smitten, and drooling. It's a pumpkin stuffed with bread, cheese, and cream and baked in the oven. What's not to love? We decided to make it for Halloween night in at Rosie's place. We made two stuffed pumpkins and also roasted the seeds in butter, brown sugar and cinnamon (mmm!).

All that pumpkin turned me into one! I decided to somewhat slightly dress up since I discovered how much orange and green I have. I also wore my new, and amazingly theatrical Kenzo frames that I am currently in love with. We had a great night in stuffing our faces, answering the door to kids, and watching TV. How was your halloween? What did you wear?

Frames: Kenzo, $130. Blazer: Salvation Army, $6. Dress: H&M, $30. Tights: Joe Fresh, $6.

See that oozing cheese? Yeah.

A pumpkin in it's most delicious form. And to think most people carve their pumpkins, put them outside to freeze, and then throw them OUT.

Pumpkin, cheezy, bready, creamy goodness.

Sweetly scrumptious seeds.

Flashback to childhood. Pixie sticks!

60s floral two-piece to go

I am head over heels in love with this vintage two-piece. When I saw it at Value Village, I instantly knew I had to have it. The print is unbelievable and the colours are so vibrant. Another great thing is they can be worn as separates or together when I'm feeling more bold. I wore this outfit to work on Saturday and to the mall to visit the new H&M with my friends. I didn't buy much at H&M since it's only been open a few days and we've been waiting to get one here forever, hence it was picked over by now but I did find an amazing toque (see it on my next post!) and a black faux-snakeskin belt. They really do have great, inexpensive accessories and I was very pleased with the size of the store, it's pretty big. Well worth the wait.
Shirt and skirt: Value Village, $10 together. Black top: Jones New York, Rikochet Resale, $25. Purse: Ragtime, $18. Boots: Dr. Martens, gifted. Necklace: Forever 21, $12

Orange you glad you came to the Pride Parade

Last Sunday began with banana french toast, then to the Pride Parade and ended with pasta, espresso and Ikea- and all those fun events required a fun outfit!

My outfit is probably one of my simplest looks. I don't tend to do simple but by pairing three bold pieces, I still felt like my old busy self. The hair style was inspired by a street style look I saw last week on one of my favourite blogs, hel-looks. With short hair, I found that I really missed having a bun on top of my head so this look allowed me to have that.

The Pride parade was a sea of rainbows, glitter, and dancing fruit apparently (Loblaws float). It was my first time going and the atmosphere was simply awesome. After Pride, me and my friends decided to keep the party going by heading to Ikea. There I found almost everything I needed for my new apartment and a few extra goodies too!
