SPLASHPAD FAB + NEW GLASSES!

I'm currently on vacation visiting my cousins who live 6+ hours away! My sister, myself, and my two cousins Brandy and Ashley have been BFFs since diapers and now I get to watch their little ones grow. They each have a one year old boy and they're so adorable. This was the second splashpad we visited in two days! I hadn't been to one since I was little so it was really fun to be a kid again.

It's sometimes challenging to pack outfits for a vacation but I think if you have some really great basics and know how your clothes fit you, it's easier to put together outfits while away from the comfort of your own closet.

Let's talk about my new glasses! As a glasses/contact lens wearer, I'm always on the lookout for a great pair of glasses. I like to give my eyes a break from contact lenses as much as possible so I try to have a few pairs to choose from. Although it's not always easy because the cost of new frames and lenses and anti-scratch, anti-glare, lens thinning, UV, and the list goes on, can really add up, costing quite a chunk of hard earned dough!

I was excited when Firmoo contacted me asking me to check out their website and choose a pair. Of course I would like a pair of new glasses but I wasn't about to share something with you that I wouldn't love and use myself. I quickly learned the prices are fabulous. Being a thrifty gal, I am always on the hunt not only for the best product but the best price and I won't settle for less. The frames cost much less than other websites I used to shop on and the quality is the same. I was also impressed with the packaging and they arrived within days of ordering. I will certainly be shopping there again soon.

If you're on the hunt for your next great pair, get 15% off your first pair and I invite you to check out their new arrivals as well.

Brunch Casual

Happy Saturday! I wore this to have brunch with friends earlier today. It took no effort to throw together and the skirt allowed for eating room. The pops of colour made me feel cheery even though the weather today is totally blah.

We also did a quick thrifting trip to St. Vincent where I found a grey velvet dress, navy blazer, and lime green planter. I've been slowly picking up things to get my plants in order for Spring. So far I have two daisy plants and two pots. I'm on the lookout for a mint plant, a new basil plant (mine has died over winter), and possibly a big palm. I'm so excited! I'm just waiting for the sun to get a little stronger and for more stores to begin carrying plants again.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

Sun on my face.

Things are truly looking up weather-wise. Yesterday it was 3 degrees and I actually felt the sun on my face. I went downtown with my sister and while she went to the art gallery for an assignment, I shopped. I mainly stayed in The Bay but also ventured into Zara. I didn't have any luck finding shoes or clothes but I did pick up a gold daisy necklace and a new ring. When all else fails, you can never have too many accessories right? Then we met up and went on a search for her new pair of Vans (she buys a new black pair every year).

My outfit was inspired by the fact that it was actually sunny out and I could wear a lighter jacket (although I was sweating profusely in the mall). I got this coat in a thrift store for $3. It's kinda matted and flimsy but I think that's why I love it. That and it's leopard and furry. I'm so excited for Spring dressing. I'll feel less like I'm wearing a uniform and more like I can express myself freely. I like wearing a different jacket and shoes everyday.

Orange you glad you came to the Pride Parade

Last Sunday began with banana french toast, then to the Pride Parade and ended with pasta, espresso and Ikea- and all those fun events required a fun outfit!

My outfit is probably one of my simplest looks. I don't tend to do simple but by pairing three bold pieces, I still felt like my old busy self. The hair style was inspired by a street style look I saw last week on one of my favourite blogs, hel-looks. With short hair, I found that I really missed having a bun on top of my head so this look allowed me to have that.

The Pride parade was a sea of rainbows, glitter, and dancing fruit apparently (Loblaws float). It was my first time going and the atmosphere was simply awesome. After Pride, me and my friends decided to keep the party going by heading to Ikea. There I found almost everything I needed for my new apartment and a few extra goodies too!
