MODern

I wore this to work last week but traded the shoes for black pumps. I've had these heels for so long but haven't had an occasion to wear them. They're too high for work and I just haven't had an opportunity to wear them. I figured they went really well with my orange ensemble. I fell in love with them because they remind me so much of Prada S/S '13

I've been trying to get into wearing more headscarfs. I wore one almost everyday one summer. I love how they look though so I think I'm going to try to remember to throw one on everyone once in a while.

Summer sure is flying by. In just one week I get to meet my cousins babies and in three weeks I'm off to England for two weeks, and just shortly after that it's my birthday! HOLY MOLY. I may burst into confetti with excitement.

How will you spend the last few weeks of summer?

VIDEO: Summer #ThriftLife

I've gone thrifting WAY too much lately but have found so many amazing things. Like I promised, here's a new haul video featuring my thrifting highlights from the past couple weeks. Also, you'll notice my twin Lisa in the video - she's also a major thrifter (maybe not as crazy as me but she finds really cool stuff too!).

Please grab a tea and take a few minutes to watch and subscribe!

Enjoy:

YELLOW!

I wore this to brunch last Sunday (Mother's Day). It was such a beautiful day, I had to bust out this bright yellow dress and kimono. The dress is something I picked up while shopping in the states last weekend and the kimono is a steal from H&M. The shoes I thrifted last winter. I love the chunky heel and they're super comfortable, I couldn't pass them up. This was my first time wearing my treasure chest purse out and it was so much fun to bring around. It's unique and I feel like it makes my outfit extra special.

I've been basking in this amazing weather and getting outside any chance I get. How have you been celebrating this sunshine?

Dress: Axia, JCP, $20. Kimono: H&M, $10. Shoes: Nine West, Value Village, $15. Purse: Ottawa Vintage Clothing Show, $45. Bracelets: Target, $16. Ring: Suzy Shier, $4.

Brighten up

Isn't this weather fabulous?! I'm beyond thrilled that winter if officially officially behind us and the sun has come out to stay. While there have been bouts of rain, the sunny days make it all worth it. I wore this outfit out for a walk with my sister. We went to our usual spot in a nearby park and just basked in the sunlight. Nature really does brighten my mood and the sun just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. I like my clothes to reflect the weather so I went with my brightest t-shirt and favourite orange jacket. This past weekend I went shopping in New York state with Rosie and her mom. We literally shopped until we dropped! I found so many great pieces for spring and couldn't believe how awesomely inexpensive everything was. We plan to make a haul video so stay tuned for that!

How are you enjoying this weather?

Knits for Spring?

As you may have heard from us Canadians, winter just isn't seeming to go away any time soon. We had about a week of sunshine and +3s and now we're back to mountains of snow and -10c. This sweater dress has been a true comfort all season. I bought it at the Ottawa Vintage Clothing Show for $25 (haggled from $40) since it had a stain on it. Lucky for me, the stain did come out and I know I didn't waste my money. I get so many compliments on it and it's one of my most comfy ensembles. I feel weird if I don't wear red lip stick with it so I always do. I wore this for a day of shopping with Rosie. Speaking of shopping, the Ottawa Vintage Clothing Show is back April 13 at the Convention Centre and you KNOW I'll be there! If you live in the area, I encourage you to come check it out!

Dress: Ottawa Vintage Clothing Show, $25. Purse: Value Village, $6. Necklace: Material Girl, $10. Boots: Forever 21, $25. Rings: Value Village, $4. The Bay, $8.

Ottawa Vintage Clothing Show - Spring '13

Last weekend I attended the Spring Ottawa Vintage Clothing show. Since we had a blogger's brunch beforehand last time, we decided to get together again this year and go to the vintage show together afterwards. It was so nice meeting more Ottawa bloggers and catching up with the ones I met last time. We had brunch at Milestones in the market and then went to the Convention centre for the vintage show. I had so much fun shopping around and meeting the shop owners- they were all so nice and we shared a love for vintage. There was A LOT of stuff to look through.. I was in vintage heaven.

I wore a 60s/70s dress that I found at Value Village a few weeks ago with my Joe Fresh flatforms that I picked up last summer. I love this dress! The colours and pattern is so vibrant and totally mod. Stay tuned to see what I bought.
