Vogue-Inspired Gardenia

I gave into Gwen's eyes and picked up this month's issue of Vogue. I also purchased the issue was because I had just watched the film 'In Vogue: The Editor's Eye' and gained a new appreciation and understanding for the magazine. I'm not a huge magazine buff so I had only purchased Vogue a few times (shocking, I know). The film is narrated by the current Vogue editor-in-chief (need I say her name?) Anna Wintour dressed in MY FAVOURITE PRADA COLLECTION suit. Five seconds in I was already committed to watching the entire thing simply to admire Anna in this suit. The film brings to life the real meaning of fashion and the intricate art and work that is put into styling fashion editorial shoots. 

"Vogue is a fashion magazine, and a fashion magazine is about change," says Anna. She really put into perspective what fashion is about. "Fashion is an indication of the times," said Anna in the film. And she's right. For example, the thrifting trend arose from the recession and acts as an indication of the economic times. Everything she says in the film makes so much sense and really made me think.

Back to the January Vogue, the first Vogue of 2013 (best year of life): If you have a chance to flip through and look at the entire Spring shoot, I strongly suggest it- it's absolutely stunning.  Styled by legendary Creative Director at American Vogue, Grace Coddington, this shoot 
immediately inspired and amazed me. In the first page, the models are wearing pieces from Prada's SS '13 show. I love what Prada is doing lately with the mod prints and this collection was Spring perfection in my opinion. PS- they're wearing leather socks. Amazing right?

My ouftit here is inspired by the flowers and pastel colours in this shoot. These pants are easily my favourite pants right now and I can't wait to wear them in the Spring too!
